Set a Quit Date

Sign up for Tobacco Free Florida’s Set a Quit Date Program by setting your quit date. Through the customized program, you will receive tips and tricks to help make quitting easier, access to helpful resources and tools, and support and ideas to help you plan. You will also hear personal success stories from people who’ve quit smoking to keep you motivated.

When it comes to quitting, the sooner, the better, but it’s important to pick a day that gives you enough time to prepare for the road ahead. We recommend setting your quit date within 30 days, and many find that a date within two weeks works best. It’s better to avoid picking a day that may be stressful or tempting, like a night out with friends or right before a big day at work. Once you’ve picked your date, post it everywhere: on your bathroom mirror, your calendar, and any other place that will serve as a daily reminder. We’ll also send you follow-up emails to help set you up for success and ready for the big day!
